Philip W. Slonkosky, DMD / MS
Growing up in Minster, Dr. Slonkosky was excited to return to join the team and Minster Dental Care as their in-house Pediatric Dental Specialist. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame, Dr. Philip attended the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, followed by a two-year Pediatric Dentistry Residency at the University of Kentucky. During his pediatric training, he began training in orthodontics and has continued his education since that time.
Dr. Slonkosky is a specialist in Pediatric Dentistry and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, which simply means he has achieved the highest form of recognition available for his specially. He completed his residency and Masters of Science degree in 2009 and started at Minster Dental July of that year.
Having the opportunity to practice at Minster Dental Care with a team of talented general dentists has allowed Dr. Philip to advance the science and practice of pediatric dentistry in new and exciting ways. He continues to research and explore the latest materials and science surrounding the practice of both dentistry and medicine in general. Dr. Slonkosky seeks to understand the root cause of all health problems, and follows an integrative approach to dentistry. Dr. Slonkosky believes that dental cavities are a sign of a broader, more systemic health imbalance related to the entire body.
In 2014 Dr. Slonkosky founded a consulting/ continuing education business with his long-time friend and mentor, Dr. Robert Elliott. Dr. Slonkosky lectures across the U.S. on topics related to pediatric dentistry, and business. Pediatric Dental Directions provides live courses and seminars for dentists who want to collaborate with like-minded colleagues to provide exceptional care for their patients.
Dr. Philip and his wife, Courtney (a former OB/Gyn) have five children and reside in Minster, Ohio where they find their peace and happiness through gardening, music, reading, exploring the great outdoors, and anything that involves water.
